Experience Design
Reimagining an emblem builder for a custom embroidery leader.
World Emblem’s private shop site needed a revamped custom emblem-creation tool for their design requests. The original tool was limited in capabilities, catering primarily to industrial laundry customers who have specific needs and are quick in their transactions. The other group of customers is less certain about their needs, requiring more guidance and opportunities for creative exploration throughout the process. Informed by strategic insights, the redesigned and modernized emblem builder features both a guided view and a quick view, offering a dual experience to effectively support these two distinct audiences.
The guided view focuses on incorporating visual content and contextual information, introducing a range of new features to elevate the customer experience. These include an advanced color picker, design markers, chat functionality, a product comparison modal, access to video tutorials, product add-ons, and a smooth user flow. Among these, the color picker and design markers were the most significant enhancements, playing a crucial role in ensuring that design request are fulfilled as the customer envisioned.
The improved quick view consolidates nearly all the guided view features into a single, condensed interface, utilizing drop-down menus, form fields, radio buttons, and tooltips for a streamlined experience.
Additionally, the integrated checkout, with sample options and event tracking gives the customer confidence as they complete their order.
Results
The improved World Emblem’s Design Request increased traffic and improved the customer’s order accuracy rate. These improvements also excited the corporate team, laying the foundation for future integration into worldemblem.com to provide a seamless e-commerce experience.
